RINSE GAIN FM LICENSE - LONDON REJOICES!

Today marks a victory for UK underground music as London’s Rinse FM received an official FM broadcasting license.
Having operated as a pirate for just over 16 years, the station has been an integral part of the development of UK underground music, overseeing the development of jungle, garage, grime, dubstep, UK funky and more. With many artists starting their careers on the station, past graduates include Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Plastician, Skream and Kode9, whilst the stations more recent focus on house/bass seeing recent shows go to a fresh pool of talent including Brackles, Bok Bok and Scratcha DVA.
With an innate understanding of their audience, Rinse FM’s strength is its close bond with its listenership, and with its new community license, it’s influence and importance will surely be on the rise.
As a once-unheard-of Rinse MC said today: “Rinse FM was inspirational and influential to my journey. Listening to my peers on the radio when I was growing up helped give me a drive, focus and subsequently an outlet for my music when otherwise there would have been none.” - Dizzee Rascal
Congratulations to all at Rinse!
