KUEDO - DREAM SEQUENCE EP (PLANET MU)

Mighty Jamie Vex’d returns to Planet Mu, this time under his new moniker ‘Kuedo’. Being fans of Mr Vex’d, we knew to expect nothing but quality but we were not ready for the tour de force that is the Starfox EP. All 4 tunes demonstrate elevated production skills, beautiful composition and most importantly, they carry within them a vast amount of soul often absent in electronic production as abstract as this. Saying that, the tunes are extremely dance floor friendly - demonstrating that winning formula most modern producers strive for. The EP’s lead track Starfox contains wonderfully effected chords and bleeps, managing to awaken dormant emotions while still sounding like a club banger.
Like a wave of calmness, Shutter Light Girl follows Starfox with a minute long Burial-esque lullaby, transporting the listener to a happy place within. Glow continues with the winning method and features the most wonderful analogue synths, faint background vocals and sparkly pads. Finally, Joy Construction tops this fantastic EP off with a slick bit-crushed funk beat laced with excellent synth lines and spanking snare lines.
Starfox is an undisputable masterpiece and we can’t wait to hear more of Kuedo…asap please.
