BALLER$ SOCIAL IS 2!

Right now Scotland seems to be in the news more often than usual and with its current affairs reaching as far as the States, where some saddos are actually investing time into ‘boycott Scotland’ websites, the land of perpetual rain and Buckfast is probably happy to get some publicity nevertheless. Music buffs should definitely not boycott Scotland, if anything all of you weird-bass-hop lovers should be booking yourself a ticket up to Glasgow to reach the spectacle that is Ballers Social 2nd Birthday weekender this weekend (11th-12th September).
Ballers Social is the brainchild of its founder Joe Kalamo and painfully cool local collective LuckyMe, renowned worldwide for its impressive roster of producers, DJs and graphic designers. The night will be totally unique (trust), keeping its music policy extremely open minded, eclectic and positioned well outside the clichéd genre template.
Friday night kicks off at Stereo with a slick line up starring Planet Mu maestro Jamie Vex’d, followed by an exclusive live performance by Hyperdub protégés Darkstar, all rounded up by a spanking aquacrunk beat tsunami by local superstar Rustie, who will no doubt be dropping previously unheard goodies from his forthcoming Warp album.
After that, you better get yourself on the bang on the Bucky for Saturday night’s Ballers reprise at the Ivy featuring live shows by beat scene badman Fulgeance and Fox Gut Daata as well as a DJ set from LuckyMe’s own Dema. Ballers Social will also be handing out free sweats and tees, as well as free fingerlicking soul food courtesy of the absolutely fucking awesome Dante’s Fried Chicken. In addition, Rustie took some time off to whizz together an incredible Ballers, which you can find over at FACT. BIG.
